What is this?

This repository holds my personal dot config files to configure and/or install my favorite apps. It also includes a script to setup my shell environment with ZSH, Oh my ZSH! and PowerLevel10k.

Motivation

The aim is to get a system quicker configured and gain general productivity.

Neovim Shortcuts

Search / Views

* snipe (plugin) config is described below. ** smart search: If the current directory is in a git repo, the search is in git file search mode otherwise in file search mode.

Snipe (Buffer/File Switcher)

GitHub Enterprise authentication

For a GitHub Enterprise Cloud instance (*.ghe.com), set the Copilot auth provider URL in the environment before starting Neovim. For example, add this to your shell configuration (~/.zshrc):

export COPILOT_AUTH_PROVIDER_URL="https://company.ghe.com"

Replace company.ghe.com with your enterprise hostname. The Neovim config adds a trailing slash if needed. Leave this variable unset to use public GitHub (github.com).

After installing the updated Neovim config, restart Neovim so it picks up the environment variable, then re-authenticate:

Run :Copilot auth signout to sign out of the previous account.
Run :Copilot auth (or :Copilot auth signin) and complete the device flow at the URL shown in Neovim. For an enterprise instance, this should use https://company.ghe.com/login/device.
Run :Copilot auth info to check the authenticated account.

The Copilot language server stores credentials in ~/.config/github-copilot/auth.db (or under $XDG_CONFIG_HOME). If re-authentication still uses the wrong account, sign out and retry after confirming the environment variable is present in Neovim's process.

Diff this

When two windows are open (side by side) Space + d + t will diff the currently opened windows.

Misc

:Format will format the current buffer.

Use :Telescope keymaps to show shortcuts / key bindings. :Telescope help_tags offers a fuzzy find over all help files.

Type :Lazy to open the plugin manager. Use u to update and i to install plugins. q to close the plugin manager.

Type :Mason to open install additional language support. Use i to install and u to uninstall. q to close the plugin manager.

Use :G <command> to show the git status. Do not forget to SAVE the file before trying to add it to the staging area. To stage a file :G add -A. For committing us :G commit. To push use :G push.

Setup

There is a subfolder for each app (e.g. ./kitty for Kitty). Each subfolder holds at least one app related config file and potentially an installation script. View the config file(s) and and use the corresponding installation script to apply the configuration to your system.

Install Scripts

If available you find install and setup scripts under each subfolder.

JNI Shell (ZSH, Oh my ZSH!, PowerLevel10k)

To install and configure the shell:
