After
use-brew, themainhook would still fire on the nextmainupdate and rebuild~/.local/bin/git-folder. That dir comes before/opt/homebrew/binon PATH, so the dev binary would silently shadow brew again. Now the hook only refreshes a dev binary that already exists:
use-devcreates~/.local/bin/git-folder; from then on the hook keeps it current asmainmovesuse-brewlinks brew's copy, then deletes the dev binary, so PATH falls through to brew; a failed link leaves the dev binary in place. The hook stays installed but skips the rebuild (logged as "skipped … no dev binary")main-hook:uninstallanddev:uninstallstill remove the hookSo
use-brewno longer uninstalls the hook.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
