giflib

This is a reduced source copy of giflib 6.1.3, a C library for reading and writing GIF images. ImageCodec uses it to decode GIF files and animation frames through CodecGif.

The copy was taken from giflib-6.1.3.tar/giflib-6.1.3. Upstream library sources are arranged under libgif/source and headers under libgif/include. The local CMakeLists.txt builds the libgif target. Upstream tools, documentation, examples, tests, and build scripts are omitted. Retained source files match the supplied release apart from whitespace.

The library uses the MIT license. See COPYING and the copyright notices in the source files.

Decoding-only subset

The following upstream source files are omitted because CodecGif only decodes GIF images:

• qprintf.c: command-line printing helpers, listed separately from library sources in the upstream Makefile.
• egif_lib.c: GIF encoding.
• gif_hash.c: hash-table implementation used by the encoder.
• quantize.c: RGB palette quantization.
• gif_font.c: bitmap text and drawing helpers.

The build retains dgif_lib.c, gifalloc.c, gif_err.c, and openbsd-reallocarray.c for decoding, shared storage helpers, error reporting, and allocation support. All three headers remain, including gif_hash.h, because the private header still uses its types. The public header retains upstream declarations for omitted features, so this build does not provide the full upstream API.
