What changed

Four new pages on the Gemini 4 Argon general release of 13 Oct 2026. They complete the founder's order of five; the launch page shipped in #739.

  • /blog/gemini-4-argon-vs-claude-opus-5-5/: Google's full 19 row table against Claude Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 Astra, the coding rows, the long context row and list prices. 882 words, three scenes (trophy cups, an abacus, a tape measure) and a title image.
  • /blog/gemini-4-argon-pricing/: the API price, the date the launch price ends, the free tier answer, worked job costs and a price comparison. 863 words, three scenes (a shop window sticker, a basket, gumball machines) and a title image.
  • /blog/how-to-use-gemini-4-argon/: five routes in and what each needs, with the API call. 871 words, three scenes (a menu, paper planes, a floating desk) and a title image.
  • /blog/gemini-4-argon-inside-google/: what Google says the model did on its own code. 845 words, four scenes (a bug tray, wool, rubber stamps, a night window) and a title image.
  • /blog/gemini-4-argon/ (live): one paragraph linking the four pages, and one quote now carries the qualifier from Google's post ("coding benchmarks where models have no incentive to hold back").

All five posts pass the gate. check-release-links passes.

Sources and review

Every fact comes from Google's launch post, developer post, Antigravity post, model page, model card, pricing page, models page, quickstart and plans page, plus Anthropic's and OpenAI's pricing pages, all read on 13 Oct 2026. Two independent reviewers checked about 310 claims.

  • The comparison and pricing pages failed the first review on one fact: they gave Claude Opus 5.5 as $8 input and $40 output per MTok, which is Anthropic's fast mode price. The standard price is $4 and $20. Both posts and the price scene are corrected. The story changed with it: Gemini 4 Argon is the cheapest of the three through 30 Nov 2026, then level with Claude Opus 5.5. The second reviewer rechecked every price line and passed both.
  • The how to page failed on one wording ("no free one": Google's post also offers a free route by application to scientists). It now says "no free tier". Fixed with the reviewer's wording.
  • The inside Google page passed. Two wordings that went further than the sources are softened.
  • All 76 benchmark cells, every tally, every Gemini price, every worked sum and every quote matched.

Not checked

  • Tap and keyboard interactions of the scenes in a browser. The scene builders checked still frames only.
  • The fixes to the how to page and the inside Google page did not get a second independent review.
  • how-to-install-gemini-cli still says in its title and first paragraph that Gemini 4 is not in Gemini CLI. It needs a refresh; it is not touched here.
